How Labour Could Win The Next General Election

Friday, November 13th, 2009

The recent European elections proved to be some what of a disaster for Labour and their leader Gordon Brown. Despite this Mr Brown has some how managed to stay on as leader possibly because there was no real alternative candidate from within the party who could do a better job, even though I am sure many would argue with this view point. Mr Brown has stated that he will learn from his mistakes and that he will start to listen to the people but many believe that he lacks true leadership qualities and the communication skills to turn it around. The public at large are also unlikely to forgive him for many of his errors and for this reason Labour currently have no chance of winning the next general election. So what are the potential solutions to this problem? How could Labour turn things around to ensure that they at least have a fighting chance of being re-elected?

I am not an MP. I am just an average man from the UK who enjoys politics. I am a web promotion specialist based in the heart of England who promotes websites to do with stutteringbusiness cost cutting and an article submission service.

I may well have the solution to the current problems facing the Labour Party! Who is the one person, perhaps the only MP who has spoken any real sense in the last eighteen months? For me there is only one answer to this question – Vince Cable. Mr Cable is the MP for Twickenham and is the Lib Dem Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer.

So this is what I would do. I would offer Mr Cable the chance of becoming the new leader of all new stronger Labour party. He may need to stand for a type of leadership election or vote however this would or at least should be a foregone conclusion that he would win. I would also let him take full control of the party therefore if he feels that Gordon Brown has to go then so be it.

As leader of the Labour Party I am sure that Vince Cable would become Prime Minister and that he would lead the country out of the desperate state that it is in. I suppose it all boils down to whether Vince Cable wants the responsibilty of being Prime Minister and whether he would be willing to switch to the Labour Party. I for one would love to see him switch and as our new leader.
