Online multi-level marketing businesses have been extremely popular for a long time. The general idea with multi-level marketing is you sign up to act as an affiliate for MLM companies, and you market their services, or products. Commissions are made each time you make a sale. After joining, you’ll need to recruit other affiliates, or downline members, and they’ll work on your team with you.
However, there’s some false thinking with people that with MLM’s you can earn good money with no work.
Proceed with caution if any MLM company wants you to pay membership fees, or dues, etc. Pretty much every organization that asks for money up front, before you make a single sale, is going to be shady. The possible problem is that you could be in a situation in which you’re working with bad products, but the company will make a lot upfront from the dues and membership fees. No need to get upset, though, when you see companies that have membership fees, etc. There’s a common sense idea that paying in order to work is not a good idea.
For people who cannot get motivated, refuse to waste any time on them. Here’s a typical scenario: people are excited, they sign-up, they see how hard it is, they stop/leave.
You know how it can be, you’ll come across some lazies who want other people in the group to do all the work, not just the hard work – all the work. Do not waste your time with these people. If someone on your down line is consistently slacking off, cut them loose. You’ll always find those who can motivate themselves to do the work, etc.
Just be open and honest about things with the people you introduce to your business. Don’t promise them megabucks right out of the gate. Let them know very simply and clearly that they have to put the work in if they ever hope to get anywhere. People can easily become discouraged if the goals or expectations are artificially high. If the attrition rate is high, you’ll be constantly recruiting and doing nothing else. That’s why at least in this business, honesty is the best policy. And your downline will appreciate you even more.
It is “not” true that MLM’s and pyramind schemes are the same thing – they are not.
But it’s true that there are some similarities. MLM business models are 100% legal and legitimate. The fallacy for most people, though, is that they can have a business that makes them money, but they do not have to contribute any work. Here’s the real secret to making money with MLM’s: Hard Work. Success will give you in the measure you contribute to it.
